Volunteers
and visitors have always played a vital part in His Ministry. Visiting work
groups from all over Canada, the United States, and beyond, travel thousands of
miles to serve on short-term missions trips (typically 7-10 days, or less -
depending on location). Some groups come year after year. For others, it is the
first time they come face to face with poverty, orphaned children, mass
evangelism, and the power of the Holy Spirit at work.
Individuals
or groups who plan to visit any of our Missions for a stay of 10 days or less
are welcome! Please complete the following two forms: Visitor Registration Form
and Skills &
Abilities -Housing Form. Please send to our office (attn: Volunteer Coordinator) or
call to check on availability of
dates. Approval is dependent on availability of housing and completion of the
registration process. Reservations are required and may be made up to a year in
advance.
We
typically receive up to 45 visitors per week at the Mission in Vicente
Guerrero, Baja (Group size cannot exceed 25 people, and we ask for a ratio of
two strong leaders for every ten adults). We also welcome smaller work groups
in Tlacolula, Oaxaca (up to 12) and Morelia, Michoacan (up to 17). Minors
aleast 16 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian (please use
Minor consent form). Minors under 16 please refer to the information packet regarding
policy. Each person or group is responsible for their own transportation to the
Mission. Reservations are taken up to one year in advance. Call early to ensure
a spot for your team!! Visitors' Photo Album.
WORK GROUP PHOTO EXPERIENCE - Often our
visitors will write to us and send pictures of their experience at our
Missions. View these slide shows to get a feeling of the work-group experience.

This
short-term missionary experience is an excellent opportunity for those who are
interested in the work that is done by His Ministry, by those who feel a
special call to the mission field but have only a limited amount of time to
give, and by those who are brand new to the missionary experience.
Our
volunteers and visitors might minister to the children in the camps by
shampooing and delousing their hair, or feeding them milk and peanut butter. At
each Mission visitors are given daily work assignments, depending on the
location a few might include: pulling weeds, can tomatoes, scrubbing floors,
mending, working in the "nut house" (macadamia nut processing) or
digging ditches.
Our
Missions rely on short-term missionary visitors who offer skills and abilities
not found locally . We are dependent on our volunteers to help with
construction, building and facilities refurbishment and maintenance,
electrical, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, painting, tile laying, auto repair,
agriculture and gardening, macadamia nut production, computer prgramming and IT
support, sewing, kitchen help, pastoral support through preaching, teaching and
prayer. Are you a doctor, specialist, dentist, physical therapist, optometrist,
nurse - medical volunteers have served in our medical clinic in Baja, or in
medical outreaches in the Baja work camps and the mountains of Oaxaca. Or,
perhaps you have a special or unique skill that might be needed?
All
visitors participate in the daily routine of life at the Mission: breakfast
with the children and staff in the kitchen, daily morning devotions and prayer
in the 'sala', a tour of our facilities, daily work assignments, opportunties
to participate in weekly child and adult evangelism, attendance at the Mission
church services, and so much more!
